Don Quijote de Barcelona

Lluc hymyilee graffitiseinän edessä Barcelonassa. Kohtaus elokuvasta Don Quijote Barcelonassa.

Story

Olli, a Finnish drifter in his sixties, has ended up homeless on the streets of Barcelona. One night he meets Lluc, a Catalan former academic in a wheelchair, and a chance encounter grows into a stubborn friendship.

When the two men start reading Don Quixote, the book turns them into its heroes: Olli declares himself a knight, Lluc becomes his squire Sancho Panza, and the wheelchair becomes Rocinante. La Rambla and the alleys of the Gothic Quarter become the stage for their adventures.

All the while Olli thinks of his daughter Annukka back in Finland. Don Quijote de Barcelona is a film about friendship, dignity and how imagination keeps a person standing when everything else is gone.
